Sexual Rights Initiative

The Sexual Rights Initiative (SRI) is looking for organizations, researchers and/or activists interested in producing brief reports (5 pages) on pressing concerns in their countries with respect to Sexual Rights issues, including (but not limited to) reproductive rights, sexual diversity, sexuality education, HIV/AIDS, etc. to be submitted for the 6th round of the Universal Periodic Review in the UN Human Rights Council. These are the countries to be reviewed in the 6th UPR:

Bhutan
Brunei Darussalam
Cambodia
Côte d’Ivoire
Democratic Republic of Congo
Equatorial Guinea
Eritrea
Ethiopia

Plan D – Democracy, Dialogue and Debate

Northern Ireland Women’s European were awarded a fund by the European Commission under their Plan D Programme – Democracy, Dialogue and Debate.  One of the main aims is to give NGOs key roles to consult and improve access to citizens at a European and national level.  Northern Ireland Women’s European Platform will produce a report incorporating all the events which took place under this programme and the outcomes including a women’s manifesto.

UK Joint Committee on Women

The UK Joint Committee on Women (UKJCW) is made up of four sister organisations from across the UK, comprising Engender, network of women’s organisations in Scotland, the National Alliance of Women’s Organisations (NAWO) in England, Women’s Voice in Wales and Northern Ireland Women’s European Platform.

The UKJCW was set up to co-ordinate a UK view with respect to the European Women’s Lobby (EWL) (Link) and to provide forums for discussion for and information to women and women’s organisations.

Consulting Young Women in 3D: Democracy – Debate – Dialogue

We are seeking comments and information from young women aged 17-25. This is a consultation for young women to find out what the EU should develop to ensure gender equality throughout Europe and we want to hear from you.

WLB issues urgent call for UN Representatives to visit Nilar Thein and other Women Human Rights Defenders in Burma
